‘Firing scare’ on Residency Rd

Nagpur: Stone pelting by five drunken youths led to rumours of firing at a restaurant on Residency Road in Sadar late on Sunday night. The incident spread tension among the police and the people as well. DCP Deepali Masirkar told that five youths were drunk and were trying to enter the restaurant at the business closure time. The security guard tried to stopped them and send them back.Enraged over this, the youths pelted stones on the restaurant that broke the glass walls. The loud cracking sound raised an alarm and people suspected that the youths had fired bullets. One of the onlookers called up the police control room. By the time police reached the spot, the youths had fled the spot. Police confirmed that no firing incident took place.
